Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. I am currently an intern at the Rheinische Philharmonie State Orchestra. I also perform as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Most recently with the Vratz Symphony Orchestra. I lectured at a music school in Düsseldorf and Velbert and also teach in Essen. I have been awarded first prizes at international competitions several times and regularly perform in classical and jazz/pop formations. Beginners, advanced violinists and aspiring violin students are in good hands with me. All aspects of violin playing such as technique, intonation, register playing, vibrato etc. including compositions from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries are integrated as well as modern styles from the 20th or 21st centuries. Today, the violin has become one of the most popular and versatile of all musical instruments. Apart from classical, and, in France, gypsy swing, which remain his areas of predilection, he has introduced himself everywhere, into jazz, pop, electro, etc. However, at the beginning of the initiation, the basics remain more or less the same, in all styles. Everyone obviously has their own rhythm and these particular ambitions: I have students who practice for several hours every day, and others who only play once or twice a week, outside of class. I assume that almost anything is possible, provided you have the right learning methods. First, we will define, as precisely as possible, your objective. What style do you want to learn? Which artist inspires you and makes you want to learn the violin? What is your level of musicality, have you ever played the violin or other instruments? And finally, how much time do you want to devote to the violin? After having collected this information, I will offer you a suitable program, made up of technical exercises, training pieces, "objective" pieces, and also, which is often neglected, listening advice (such as when learning a language, you learn a lot by listening...).
